Red Sox player and World Series champion Mookie Betts is an MVP on and off the field

World Series champ Mookie Betts was spied doing something each of us should do whenever possible – feed the hungry. After Game 2 of the World Series, this beloved Red Sox player was by the Boston Public Library with food for the homeless. That he did it with no fan-fare at 1:00 a.m. after a World Series game tells you what kind of human being he is.

While most professional athletes have the means to afford such gestures, it is a reminder to us all to give what we can within our own means. The next time you pass a homeless person, make no judgment or assumption as to their circumstance. You may not be able to solve their incredibly difficult situation, but you can provide relief for a moment in time. Just do this….

Meet a teenager doing her part to tackle food insecurity – could your teen replicate this in your town?
